Organization Overview

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards is a nonprofit organization on a mission to advance the quality of teaching and learning in order to improve student learning and outcomes, elevate the teaching profession, and build a diverse and accomplished teaching profession. Established in 1987, we are recognized as the gold standard in teacher certification, and believe higher standards for teachers means better learning for students. We rigorously approach our work by

  • Maintaining high and rigorous standards for what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do;
  • Providing a national voluntary system certifying teachers who meet these standards;
  • Advocating related education reforms to integrate National Board Certification in American education and to capitalize on the expertise of National Board Certified Teachers.

Position Overview

The National Board is seeking a new member to join our dynamic team as our Vice President of People, Strategy, and Finance, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
